Introducing Change Networks

June 6, 2017

The Bush Foundation is excited to introduce a new leadership development opportunity for people who have the desire and potential to make positive changes where they live or work.

Change Networks are unique learning experiences for people who want to build the skills and connections that will help them become more effective leaders. They are cohort-style programs, so participants will also gain new allies who can support their work during the program and beyond.

“There are a lot of people in our region working to make their communities better for everyone,” said Anita Patel, Bush Foundation’s Leadership program director. “Sometimes, to be effective, you need to change the way you get things done. Change Networks are designed to give people the time, resources and support they need to do just that.”

Patel said that the initial Change Network offerings are designed for people who want to improve their ability to lead change in a more equitable and inclusive manner. The Foundation selected three organizations to deliver Change Network programs in each of the states it serves. National Arts Strategies will deliver Change Network programs in North Dakota and South Dakota. The Cultural Wellness Center and the Public and Nonprofit Leadership Center at the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs will collaborate to deliver Change Network program in Minnesota.

“As our region becomes more diverse, people who want to make their community better for everyone need to be able to work with folks from all walks of life,” Patel said. “We look forward to working with our partners to help people lead change in a more inclusive and equitable manner.”

People can apply to join a Change Network program in their state. All programs will run from Fall 2017 to Summer 2018. The application period for each cohort opens on June 6, 2017.
