Site Search Instructions
The site search engine accepts queries using the words or, and, or not; a parentheses; or an asterisk.
For example:
information retrieval
finds pages on this site containing information or retrieval
information or retrieval
finds pages containing information or retrieval (just as in the first example)
information and retrieval
finds pages containing both information and retrieval
information not retrieval
finds pages containing information but not containing retrieval
(information or retrieval) and Bush
finds pages containing Bush and either information or retrieval
info*
finds pages containing words starting with info

Grants Database Search
The Grants database search does not support wildcards.
Searches can be made by selecting any dropdown choice or using them in conjunction with any of the others, as well as the Keyword or Organization search.
The Keyword and Organization options return search strings of exact text found in a grantee organization's project description or legal name. If you are unsure of exact phraseology or spelling and are not getting the expected results, try typing in fewer words, e.g., type in "Theater" or "Theatre" rather than "The Minnesota Theater Company."
Most Recent Meeting Search
This searches on the grants database during a specified time frame. Most often, this search will return information on all grants awarded at the last scheduled Board Meeting. There will, however, be short time periods (usually just prior to the March, July and November Board meetings) that no data will be returned on this search. Search results, as with the general grants database search, can be sorted by any of the choices displayed in the dropdown box.

Fellowship Databases Searches
The Fellowship database searches do not support wildcards.
Searches can be made in each fellowship area by selecting any dropdown choice or using them in conjunction with any of the others, as well as the Last Name or Keyword search. In most cases, if a choice from the "Category" (Artist Fellowships) or "Career Field" (Leadership Fellowships) dropdown is selected, a searchable subset of the first option will be also revealed.
A Keyword search is available for the Leadership and Medical Fellowship databases. As it returns search strings of exact text found in Fellows' primary goal fields, it recommended that one or two word phrases be used, e.g., "masters degree" or "holistic."
When the search results are returned, they can be sorted by any of the choices displayed in the dropdown box.
