| Rebuilders Program - How to Apply |
Thank you for your interest in applying to be a Native Nation Rebuilder. The first cohort of Rebuilders has been announced; applications will open again in Fall 2010 for the second cohort. The Foundation seeks candidates who are at least 18 years of age, an enrolled citizen of one of the 23 Native nations and who live on or near his or her nation’s lands. The Foundation reserves the right to select a limited number of Rebuilders who do not meet all of these criteria.
Rebuilders will be chosen by a selection committee composed of individuals knowledgeable about and sympathetic to the challenges of nation-building. The committee will evaluate each Rebuilder candidate on the candidate’s commitment to Native self-governance, knowledge of the issues facing his or her nation and current involvement with his or her nation.
In addition to covering the cost of instruction, materials and facilitation for Rebuilder events, the Bush Foundation will also reimburse Rebuilders for the cost of transportation to and from events, as well as for the cost of meals and lodging while at events.

Applications will open in Fall 2010 for the second cohort of Rebuilders. In the meantime, we suggest you read an information sheet about the Program.

Upon selection, we will be asking each Rebuilder to make a significant commitment to this two-year program: to participate consistently in ongoing Rebuilder activities throughout the two-year period, to actively share knowledge with peers and with his or her nation’s government and to develop and implement nation-building action plans. |
