How Bush Fellows are Making a Difference

Since 1965, the Bush Foundation has been offering people with promise the opportunity to better themselves—to get more training, to reflect and learn—and then to return the benefits to their communities. Photographer Paul Shambroom (Bush Artist Fellow ’92 & ’02) spent more than a decade investigating and photographing the secrets of America’s nuclear arsenal, which in turn led to a study of small-town councils and an exploration of U.S. preparedness and training in the aftermath of 9/11. “My role is to educate myself and ask questions,” said Shambroom. “I don’t always come up with the answers in my work, but I see myself as participating in a larger society, asking those questions in a way that puts a public face on the issues.” {Read More}
